Are you concerned about a possible pregnancy? At First Care Pregnancy Center, you won't find anyone judging you or telling you what to decide if you're facing an unplanned pregnancy. There's no hype, no politics, and we don't make money off of your decisions. We're here to provide you with free pregnancy testing, medically accurate information, and resources about your options if you're facing an unplanned pregnancy.
If you're facing an unplanned pregnancy and are unsure of your decision, our licensed social workers are available to provide free pregnancy options counseling. During your time with your social worker, you'll receive information and support needed to make the best decision possible for you and your child. Our licensed social workers can help you consider your options in an objective way, and can provide support during and after the pregnancy.
For some women, the discovery of an unplanned pregnancy can lead to many additional challenges, one of which may be a disrupted housing situation. If you are in need of housing because of an unplanned pregnancy, we may be able to assist you through our Charis Support Home Program. This program provides the option of living with a family during your pregnancy, including a short time afterward. Contact a Pregnancy Support Social Worker at an office near you for more information.
If you choose to parent, your Pregnancy Support Social Worker will help you develop a parenting plan that will address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs for you and your child. Sessions on parenting may explore budgeting, emotional needs of children, community resources, financial assistance, and building a support team for yourself and your child.
If you choose adoption you can rest assured knowing that New Life Family Services is licensed by the State of Minnesota to provide full and limited adoption services. Sessions that focus on adoption may include exploring the levels of openness in adoption, choosing a family, planning for the hospital time and birth experience, post-adoption emotions and how to discuss an adoption decision with children that you may already be parenting.
Again, it is important to find support as you explore your options. It is normal to change your mind about your plan throughout your pregnancy. You do not need to wait until you have made a decision to talk to a social worker. We are here to help you sort through your feelings and thoughts about your pregnancy, as well as to help you explore your options.
