Limited Adoption Services Fees

Limited Adoption Services = New Life Family Services provides only some of the elements necessary for a full legal adoption. This means that the adoptive family is likely working with another agency, the birth parents are likely working with another agency and/or an attorney may be rendering some of the services.

$3,500 Adoption Study fee due upon adoption study approval.
Education: Seminars, individual
Meetings and Assessment: Choices in adoption, preparation for adoption issues, background checks, reference requests, compiling medical, financial, mental health history, other verifications, fulfilling State-mandated requirements regarding the adoption study
Miscellaneous: Assistance with profile preparation and annual study updates
$200 Adoption Study Transfer fee due prior to home study being transferred to another agency. This fee includes transferring the Adoption Study and other relevant documents to an outside agency.
$1,000 Adoption Study Transfer fee due after adoption study has been transferred to New Life Family Services and reviewed by the Adoption Unit Supervisor. This fee includes the transfer of the adoption study from an outside agency and collecting further information.
$5,000 Birth Parent Services fee due after the "legal risk" period has passed. This fee covers the services provided primarily by the Birth Parent Unit social workers. Families who do not receive a placement from New Life Family Services are not charged the Birth Parent Services fee. If interim care is necessary, there will be an additional fee of $750. The use of interim care is at the discretion of New Life Family Services in the best interests of the child.
Birth Parent Sessions with a social worker: Decision making, adoption planning, openness, grief counseling before and after the adoption. These services are available to family members as well.
Case Management: ICWA eligibility, Medical Assistance, other service providers
Placement: Hospital visits, completing paperwork, going over specific case risks, entrustment ceremony
$2,000 Decision-making Counseling fee due prior to birth parent(s) receiving counseling. This fee covers meeting with a social worker to discuss choices for pregnancy.
$1,500 Consents Only fee is due after the birth parent(s)' voluntary consents have expired. This fee covers the signing and processing of the birth parent(s)' consents to the placement as well as the collection of the social medical history of the birth parents.
$1,500 Termination of Parental Rights (TPR) fee is due after a TPR has been completed. This fee covers the legal process to facilitate the termination of birth parents' rights.
$1,000 Interim Care fee due after the "legal risk" period has passed and child is out of Interim Care. This fee covers the use of a NLFS foster-interim care home.
$1,500 Adoptive Placement Services fee due after the "legal risk" period has passed. This fee covers the services provided primarily by the Adoption Unit staff. This fee covers support to the adoptive family during hospital visit(s) and facilitation of hospital discharge.
Case Management: Communication with doctor, hospital, other service providers
Placement: Hospital visits, completing paperwork, going over specific case risks, entrustment ceremony
$500 Adoptive Placement Services (for NL families adopting outside of NL) Assistance with placement when another agency is involved
$500 Interstate Compact Coordination fee is due after the "legal risk" period has passed. This fee covers the facilitation of interstate placement requirements and postage.
$2,000 Post-Placement Services fee due at the end of the supervision period and prior to finalization.
Supervision Visits: State-required visits to document adjustment and attachment
Reports: Post-placement report, report to court, certificate of adoption, documentation of child's well-being and adjustment, forwarding documents to court for finalization as required by law
$3,000 Post-Placement Services- Six Month Requirement fee due at the end of the supervision period and prior to finalization.

Reports: Post-placement report, report to court, certificate of adoption, documentation of child's well-being and adjustment, forwarding documents to court for finalization as required by law

All fees are due upon the provision of service. Once the service is completed and a fee is paid, the fee is non-refundable. New Life will not submit consent for finalization until fees are paid in full.
